TRAVEL TO HO CHI MINH CITY - VIETNAM

We came back from HCM City on 6 June 07 and after 1 week later, we went for a day trip to Batam. My body is totally exhausted and ached from these travellings (especially the racing car ride with my kid on the Goldkart at Waterfront of Batam)

Hence, joined me (Texts and pictures narrator by my kid - Nathaniel) for our real time travelling trip to HCM City and later to Batam Island!

Day 1 - Morning Flight to HCM City (or Saigon), Vietnam

This is Changi Airport Terminal 1, we are waiting at Belt 54 to aboard the flight just behind me

This is the interior of Jetairstar. You see, they are no passengers yet because we are the first passenger to abroad. May I suggest all uncles, aunties if you are first time travelling with Jetairstar, try taking the front row seats as it is nearer to the toilet, entrance and food will be served first.

BTW, do remember to reserve your seat prior to your booking! (Especially online booking)

Hoorary! Is time for aeroplane meals! I always enjoy eating "Aeroplane Meals". Mummy told me that this time we have to buy the breakfast meal listed from the menu because this is a budget airline. We ordered two sets of sandwiches at S$7.00 each. I have milo at S$3.00 and mummy have coffee also at S$3.00.

Hmmmm, the sandwiches tasted yummy yummy! I finished one all by myself.

"Good Morning, Sir!" Look, I have a glimpse of one of the pilot on duty. He just came out from the washroom. HeeHeeHee!

My mummy would not miss any chance to collect souvenirs anytime, anywhere and any places she been. She brought this Jetstar Asia Airplane Key Chain Magnet w/Lights & Sound for S$7.00. Simply push the nose of the plane, you can hear a realistic jet take off sound and flashing led lights.

Nearly about an hour boring flight (no catoons to watch or games to play) , we are approaching Ho Chi Minh City.

Yippy!! We finally arrived Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon. This is the Tan Son Nhat Airport. Now we are waiting for our luggages at the luggages belt.

This is the Arrival Hall Exit.

Upon arrival at the airport, we are received by the Hotel's representative to transfer us to our hotel - Windsor Plaza Hotel. Transfer is free when you booked a room with this hotel.

Am I look co0ol?? I mean in the aircon mini car. HCM climate is really very HOT. U see, what
a contra when Daddy and Mummy brought me to Shanghai last December. The temperature is down to minus zero degree.
Verrrrrrry cold! Aiyooh!!

Mummy, why everywhere is motoorbikeee?? Mummy, how these people cross the road with so many bike? Daddy, are we going to ride on these motorbike as well?

The first impression when you step out of the airport and make your way downtown was the traffic. It's a totally different scenario as what we used to see in our hometown or nearby countries. Motorbikes largely outnumber cars throughout. In fact, driving a car require more attention with all these bikes jam-packed the entire road and waving in and out from all directions. Almost everyone rides a bike, male or female, teenagers, office workers, older folks, some with 2 or 3 pillon riders including children.

This is an unique scene that only Vietnam have. You got to have the nerve to move along slowly and cautiously in the midst of all these moving bikes or you never get to cross over to the opposite side. It's dangerous to hesitate midway or panic with approaching bikes as this tend to confuse the bikers to anticipate your next move - to the left or right of him. So do be very careful. Even though there are zebra crossings and green man signal at many traffic junctions, you cannot rely on the.

Vehicle (especially the bikes) just don't stop for pedestrians. Some bikers even go against the flow of traffic and making illegal turns on every directions. They even turn up to the pavement of any shops.

About 30 mins of exciting moments of the road scene, we have arrived our hotel - Windsor Plaza Hotel. Being rated a five-star hotel, it is located at 18 An Duong Vuong Street, District 5. It is situated in the very centre of District 5 HCM City and is set between the business district Saigon and historic Chinatown district. You can visit their website at http://www.windsorplazahotel.com/ for a better vision about this hotel. They offer FREE pick-up and drop-off from/to Airport. They also catered FREE shuttle bus from hotel to various destinations between district 1 and district 5.
For this trip, Mummy reserve our hotel room thru this website: http://www.asiarooms.com/. Mummy has mentioned that this websites is a good choice to book hotel online as they provide excellent support, safe payment portal and prompt response towards your email queries. You can feel at ease when you book a hotel through this website and therefore, here, may I urge all uncles, aunties have visited our blog - do try it up when you are going on your next F&E trip to any part of the countries.

We have booked our room on the Executive Suite and indeed, we are treated very executively. First, we are directed to the Executive Lounge at the highest floor - 24th floor for room check-in. Because we arrived in the morning, we are served with complimentary breakfast while the staff preparing our check-in document.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG - i TRAVEL - i EAT - i SHOP

UPDATES as at 2019

Have started blogging about my travelogs as far as year 2007. Nearly over 12 years ago! Frankly speaking, being a "multi tasks" mother (working, family care, online seller, craft maker, homebaker etc) and consider a 半途出家 blogger, even have been continue to travel more countries during that few years, I have not really completely finished or post my travel journeys to my blog page. Where I'm quite regretted right now for 2 reasons: First, the memory of the travelling has faded and secondly, if I should have been more active on blogging, my blog page might get awareness or received some awards by the commerical entities as well. (Faded Dream!)

And one of my shocking moment, I realise that the photographs taken for some of the countries and have been stored in the thumb drive seem to be MISSING!!!

Have yet to search thoroughly and now only could cross my fingers that the thumb drive is hidden somewhere and one day I could be able to find it.

Well, for the balance photographs I possess, I hope is not too late to regain my travelogs upload to my blog as far as year 2007. And to mention for someone like me who consistently received a “D” for grammar but self proclaimed definitely an  “A” for Monkey See, Monkey Do (of course with some innovation lah), do bear with my grammatically incorrect and localised (Singaporean laced Singlish) and mixed of  Mandarin and Cantonese throughout the posts.

If it will have to  categorise my travel blog, it should be under "Monkey See, Monkey Do Travel Blog"

So, really wish to share a pie in this circle and one day get public's recognisation. Stay tune!

I travel, I eat, I shop - Simple quote but it tells everything of why we need to keep our job going as long as possible, save our money as much as possible and always live a healthy lifestyle.
